Comment. Well, I'd be quite surprised to find an obit in the Irish Times, the newspaper of Ireland, for a man who came from and died in the far north of Northern Ireland, a different country. Johnlp (talk) 23:59, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. There are a fair few mentions on British Newspaper Archive, especially in the local press, but mostly passing mentions in team announcements, match reports and scorecards. However, it does seem very clear that he was known as Wallace Allen so if kept, the article should be moved to usurp Wallace Allen (currently a orphan redirect), or to Wallace Allen (cricketer). _wjemather^{please leave a message...} 11:48, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Delete Unfortunately, while a good biography, Cricket Europe appears to be a self-published website. The only other sources are our favourite statistical directories. Even arguing that Cricket Europe is an acceptable source, that still leaves us with only one reliable secondary source which significantly covers him. He also barely scrapes past the SNG, which in other sports (football) leads to a delete outcome if GNG is definitively failed. I do not mind the ATD proposal at all - there is a place for this information on Wikipedia, but it's in a list somewhere, not as a stand-alone article. Furthermore if we uncover more coverage of Wallace Allen I'd love to have a squiz. SportingFlyer T·C 00:03, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Delete does not meet GNG, we lack multiple cases of significant coverage for reliable independent 3rd party sources. This junk idea that one play makes someone notable also needs to be trashed. With actors we require multiple significant roles in notable productions, why with sportsmen do we think just a single game play suffices, that is truly a ludicrous idea.John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:04, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. The match in which Allen played is for all intents and purposes an international fixture, with Allen playing for the national cricket team therefore making him an international sportsman. The MCC organised international tours until way into the 1970s. Something the likes of JPL, who regularly comments on deletion articles for a sport that he has zero understanding or interest in, wouldn't get. StickyWicket (talk) 14:23, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Keep has a marginal pass of WP:NCRIC on the basis of his first class appearance, but the improvements in the past few days also give the article a pass on the basis of WP:GNG. DevaCat1 (talk) 23:00, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Weak keep. Per my comment above, almost all sources are passing mentions in team announcements, match reports and scorecards. The CE bio is not enough on its own, but from that we can conclude that there is probably significant coverage in at least one book by Billy Platt, so this just about scrapes over the GNG line. _wjemather^{please leave a message...} 11:02, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
